Sixth Annual Short Par 4 Fall Classic Sells Out – Again

432 Golfers From 36 States Will Play In Fast-Growing Event

The sixth annual Short Par 4 Fall Classic, which will be played Nov. 17-21 on 16 of Myrtle Beach’s best courses, has attracted a sold-out field of 432 golfers.

A 72-hole, two-man team event, the Fall Classic increased its field by more than 100 players in 2018 in an attempt to meet popular demand, and golfers from across the nation filled the tournament even faster this year.

“The Short Par 4 Fall Classic is the fastest growing tournament in America for recreational golfers,” said Scott Tomasello, the tournament director. “Players love the team format and nine of our 16 courses have been ranked among America’s top 100 public layouts. Combine those two factors with the value the tournament provides and we are delighted with the growth of the event.”

In a testament to the Fall Classic’s growing appeal, players from 36 states will be playing in this year’s event and more than 2/3rds of the field is from outside the Carolinas.

At the heart of the tournament’s popularity is a star-studded golf course lineup that includes Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, the Fazio and Dye Courses at Barefoot Resort, Grande Dunes, Heritage Club, Long Bay, King’s North at Myrtle Beach National, Oyster Bay, Pawleys Plantation, Pine Lakes, Prestwick Country Club, Rivers Edge, Thistle, TPC Myrtle Beach, True Blue, and World Tour Golf Links.

Entry into the tournament is just $395 and that included four rounds of golf, a welcome reception, a Thursday evening awards banquet, and Short Par 4 provides players with their choice of a pullover from Travis Mathew or Greg Norman when they register.

The Fall Classic has a different format of play each day, leading off with best ball, followed by a Texas scramble, modified alternate shot and a final round scramble.
