Brentwood, Tenn. – The 2026 PGA TOUR season continued its remarkable run for replaceable spike technology, with six events now played and six victories secured by players competing in replaceable spikes.
The latest win came at the Genesis Invitational, where the champion overcame a nervy final stretch to secure a one-shot victory at Riviera Country Club. Finishing 18 under par, the winner held off a late charge from a world-class field to claim a maiden PGA TOUR victory in impressive fashion.
Crucially, the champion trusted replaceable spike technology under the most intense Sunday pressure, competing in adidas footwear fitted with PINS Thintech EXP. With a seven-shot cushion early in the final round cut to a single stroke, stability and traction proved critical down the stretch on one of the tour’s most demanding layouts.
The dominance of replaceable spikes extended well beyond the winner. An impressive 35 of the top 40 finishers chose replaceable spikes over spikeless or tennis-style golf shoes, underlining the continued preference among elite players for maximum traction and ground connection when performance matters most.
The momentum was not limited to the PGA TOUR. On the LPGA Tour at the Honda LPGA Thailand, the champion also trusted replaceable spikes, competing in Nike footwear fitted with Tour Flex Pro and Tornado spikes to secure victory in a world-class international field.
Six PGA TOUR events. Six victories for replaceable spikes. And continued validation across the global professional game.
“Week after week we’re seeing the very best players in the world choose replaceable spikes because they understand the performance advantage,” said Joe Henderson, President of Softspikes. “When tournaments are being decided by a single shot, traction and stability are not optional. The data and the results speak for themselves. Six straight wins to start the PGA TOUR season is a powerful statement.”
With traction, stability, and confidence under pressure continuing to separate the best from the rest, replaceable spikes remain the performance standard at the highest level of the game.
Tour players routinely change spikes based on course conditions, but many amateur golfers overlook traction’s impact on consistency and distance. For optimal performance, golfers should replace spikes every 15 rounds.
