Softspikes Dominate FedExcup Playoff Opener as Winning Run Continues

August 17, 2026

Brentwood, Tenn.,   – Softspikes continued its remarkable run at the top of the professional game this weekend, extending its winning streak on the PGA TOUR to 32 consecutive weeks, while also claiming victories on the DP World Tour, PGA TOUR Champions and LPGA Tour.

At the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the opening event of the FedExCup Playoffs, the winner trusted Nike footwear fitted with Tour Flex Pro spikes to secure one of the biggest titles of the season.

With the PGA TOUR season entering its decisive Playoffs phase, the victory maintained Softspikes’ perfect record in 2026, with a player wearing replaceable spikes having now won 32 weeks in a row.

The dominance extended deep into the field in Memphis, with 43 of the top 46 finishers choosing replaceable Softspikes over spikeless or tennis-style footwear. As the leading players on the PGA TOUR competed for position in the FedExCup, more than 93% of the top finishers relied on replaceable traction.

Joe Henderson, President of PrideSports, said: “The FedExCup Playoffs are where the margins become even smaller and every shot matters, so to see 43 of the top 46 players choosing replaceable traction is a very powerful statement. We’ve now seen a Softspikes wearer win on the PGA TOUR for 32 consecutive weeks, but just as importantly, week after week the numbers throughout the leaderboard demonstrate how much the world’s best players value traction and stability when the pressure is at its highest.”

Success continued on the DP World Tour, where the winner of the Danish Golf Championship competed in PUMA footwear fitted with Tour Flex Pro spikes.

On PGA TOUR Champions, the Boeing Classic champion trusted FootJoy footwear with Tour Flex Pro spikes, while on the LPGA Tour, the winner of The Standard Portland Classic secured another victory for replaceable traction wearing Nike footwear fitted with Silver Tornado spikes.

The four victories across four leading professional Tours provide another emphatic demonstration of the role replaceable traction continues to play for the world’s best golfers, with players consistently choosing the stability, grip and connection provided by Softspikes when competing at the highest level.

Tour players routinely change spikes based on course conditions, but many amateur golfers overlook traction’s impact on consistency and distance. For optimal performance, golfers should replace spikes every 15 rounds.
