REVOLUTIONARY NEW SOFTSPIKES TOUR FLEX PRO TECHNOLOGY DEBUTS AT WM PHOENIX OPEN AND EARNS FIRST WIN

New Dynamic Traction Technology Validated by Independent Research, Helps Golfers Find the Center of the Clubface More Consistently, Improving Accuracy by 40%

BRENTWOOD, Tenn.  – Softspikes®, makers of the No.1 spike on the PGA Tour, today announced that the winner of the WM Phoenix Open utilized the all-new Tour Flex Pro spikes to defend his title at the event and reclaim the number one spot in the Official Golf World Rankings.

Tour Flex Pro made its Tour debut at TPC Scottsdale with 25% of the field switching to the new spikes. More than 20% of the top 50 finishers were harnessing the power of Tour Flex Pro.

“We believe the win in Scottsdale will be the first of many, and validates the advantages Tour Flex Pro spikes offer golfers,” said Joe Henderson, President, PrideSports. “Our testing revealed increases in distance and accuracy, but it is great to see the technology perform when the money is on the line.”

Tour Flex Pro spikes have been independently proven to increase driver distance by five yards while reducing shot dispersion by 40%[1]. The all-new spikes harness performance characteristics of a metal spike with the comfort of a plastic spike through Softspikes’ proprietary Dynamic Traction Technology®. Three degrees of traction and ten points of contact enable Tour Flex Pro to deliver unmatched stability for enhanced ball-striking which leads to improved accuracy and overall distance.

Beginning March 1, Softspikes Tour Flex Pro replacement spikes will be available through Softspikes.com and major golf and sporting goods retailers nationwide ($19.99 MSRP).

In 2022, more than 80% of players on the PGA Tour chose Softspikes, resulting in 30 victories, including all four Majors and the Tour Championship. While Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, amateur golfers rarely think about impacts on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be swapping out their spikes every 15 – 20 rounds.

SOFTSPIKES®

Softspikes is the #1 spike on the PGA Tour and leader in golf cleat technology. Manufactured by PrideSports® and founded in 1993 following a winter metal spike “ban” endorsed by several U.S. State Golf Associations, Softspikes became the industry’s first and only patented non-metal cleat. Offering enhanced traction, added comfort and improved performance, Softspikes replacement spikes can be purchased on Softspikes.com or through major retailers, sporting goods and golf specialty stores and pro shops nationwide.

[1] Independent research conducted by The Golf Lab. Testing included seven swings on wet grass pitting Softspikes Tour Flex Pro alongside spikeless shoes. The data revealed increased horizontal impact location by 32% and vertical impact consistency by 22%. The largest changes were found in golfers with a swing speed above 110 mph. In those cases, players averaged 5.2 more yards in total distance and their dispersion reduced by an astonishing 60%. In addition, high swing speed golfers achieved 40% more accuracy and 46% more consistent distance. The research unequivocally reinforced that spiked cleats provide golfers more consistency hitting the sweet spot, improved distance and accuracy.
