A FARM TOUR LIKE NO OTHER – COURTESY OF APGS 2022

July 31, 2022

The fourteen-year-old Asia Pacific Golf Summit (APGS 2022) has built up an enviable reputation of showcasing some of the biggest names in the golf industry at its annual business summit and with its latest edition, the world-class event will be stepping out in style to stage the very first visit to a turf farm.

“This is ground-breaking stuff,” said Mike Sebastian, the owner and producer of APGS 2022. “Grass is a major part of our business and more often than not, golf course owners, general managers and operators really don’t get a chance to feel, touch and step on the grass before a decision to turf is taken,” he explained.

This is now a thing of the past. Southeast Asia’s largest turf farm operator, Sustainable Turf Farms, owned by the leading supplier of golf course agronomy products and services, Sports Turf Solutions will be hosting a can’t-be-missed-farm tour.

“For the first time all delegates to APGS 2022 will be able to take a first-hand tour of Vietnam’s only Certified International Turf Farm,” said Brad Burgess, Managing Director of Sports Turf Solutions, the owner of the farm. “This state-of-the-art international standard turf farm features over 6 different types of Zoysia and Bermuda Grasses, plus new varieties undergoing various tests to see which varieties are suitable locally for further production. Some varieties of which that can save you up to 70% of the maintenance costs of your golf course budget,” said Burgess.

The Sustainable Turf Farm’s spread in Vietnam covers over 160,000 square metres of land and it is a sight to behold. “Nowhere will golf course owners and operators be able to check out which of these super hybrids are ideally suited for either a renovation project or a new development,” declared Burgess.

According to Burgess, “This modern farm features modern day harvesting, washing, packaging and storage facilities for exporting to locations all through the Asia Pacific and Middle East.”

On hand will be the world’s largest independent turf breeder, David Doguet President of BladeRunner Farms to meet all delegates personally to discuss these varieties and explain what makes these varieties the most popular trend in the turf business.

Burgess, the owner of Sports Turf Solutions and Sustainable Turf Farms will also be on hand to give a guided tour and presentations together with his team of agronomists.

Besides the tour of the turf farm, delegates will also be able to check out a comprehensive range of various agronomy products and services that will be on display.

The turf farm visit will be a specially organised and staged event which is part of APGS 2022, and it will be conducted on November 3, 2022 at Hoi An in Vietnam.

Delegate registration is now open at: https://registration.asiapacificgolfsummit.com/event/asia-pacific-golf-summit-2022
