Tournament Officials, Palos Verdes Golf Club and the LPGA Tour Announce New Two-Year Partnership Extension
The 2024 LA Open will take place March 18-24
PALOS VERDES ESTATES Calif., – Palos Verdes Golf Club (PVGC), Outlyr and the LPGA Tour announced today an extension for the LA Open to be hosted at PVGC through 2025. The tournament will return to Palos Verdes Golf Club for a second year with slightly modified dates next spring, taking place March 18-24, 2024. The championship will once again feature a field of 144 of the world’s top professional golfers competing for a share of the $1.75 million purse.

Often referred to as the “hidden gem” in Southern California, Palos Verdes Golf Club has a long history hosting women’s golf events. The 2024 playing of the LA Open will mark the tournament’s second year at PVGC and third consecutive LPGA Tour event. The LA Open made its debut in 2018, marking the LPGA Tour’s return to Los Angeles for more than a decade. In 2023, 20-year-old Ruoning Yin earned her first LPGA Tour victory and became the Tour’s second winner from the People’s Republic of China. Nasa Hataoka (2022), Brooke Henderson (2021), Minjee Lee (2019) and Moriya Jutanugarn (2018) also hold LA Open titles.
“Palos Verdes Golf Club has been a tremendous host for the LPGA Tour, and we look forward to continuing our relationship in continuing to build the LA Open as a must-attend event for players and spectators alike,” said James Clark, vice president of Outlyr and tournament director for the LA Open.
In 2022, PVGC hosted the Palos Verdes Championship presented by Bank of America, with Marina Alex capturing her first LPGA Tour win since 2018. The course also has hosted the Northrop Grumman (now the Therese Hession) Regional Challenge women’s collegiate championship for the past 27 years. Past individual winners include future LPGA Tour winners Carlota Ciganda, Natalie Gulbis, Brittany Lang, Bronte Law, Andrea Lee, Leona Maguire, Lorena Ochoa, Annie Park and Rose Zhang.
