ATLANTA – Spark Golf, the industry leader in social golf leagues, has partnered with Black Girls Golf in Atlanta, an organization committed to inclusivity in the game of golf. This collaboration promotes diversity on the course and aims to make golf more accessible, engaging and fun for everyone, regardless of skill level or background.
Tiffany Mack Fitzgerald, founder of Black Girls Golf, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership. “We are incredibly excited to join forces with Spark Golf. This partnership is a significant step towards making golf a welcoming and enjoyable sport for women of all backgrounds. Our shared vision of growing the game aligns perfectly with our mission to create a more inclusive golf community.”
Matt Justine, Co-Founder of Spark Golf, added, “Spark Golf is committed to making golf social and fun. This new partnership allows us to reach a broader audience and introduce the joy of golf to more people. Together, we can help to break down barriers to build a larger and more diverse golfing community.” Justine added that Spark Golf plans to expand this initiative in 2025 with more opportunities across the Spark community.
As part of this partnership, a pilot 5-hole evening league launched at the John A. White Golf Course in Atlanta, GA. The league was designed to accommodate both beginners and seasoned golfers. Participants have the opportunity to play every week alongside fellow members, fostering a supportive and friendly environment. Black Girls Golf hosts weekend clinics and instruction for their members in addition to the league nights. These clinics cover basic golf technique and review rules and course etiquette that can be practiced and implemented in the casual setting of a Spark golf league.
Jeff Dunovant, Director of Golf at John A. White Golf Course, shared his excitement. “I am thrilled to be a part of this initiative. Growing the game and making it accessible to everyone is something I am deeply passionate about. This league is a fantastic way to introduce new players to the sport while also providing a fun and competitive environment for experienced golfers.”
The pilot league aims to break down barriers and create a welcoming space where all players can enjoy the game, learn, and grow together. By offering flexible play options and fostering a community spirit, this initiative is set to make a lasting impact on the Atlanta golf scene and other cities in the near future.
