ORLANDO – Spark Golf celebrates opening week 2024 as it welcomes back golfers for its largest season yet of social league play across the United States and Canada. With over 2,000 leagues scheduled to start throughout the spring, the most anticipated week is drawing near as the first scores are recorded in the Spark app. Spark’s 9-hole league play is casual, co-ed and has quickly become a favorite evening social activity among a diverse group of more than 200,000 golfers.
Spark has proven that on-course play can look different than the old school traditional leagues of the past. The pay-as-you-play registration provides flexibility, access and opportunity for all golfers to get out more regularly. And this spring it will be even easier to find a Spark league to join. Co-Founder and CEO Charlie Klaus celebrates the growth of Spark as hundreds of new courses are added to the 2024 schedule. “Accessibility is our main goal for 2024 and adding over 1,000 new leagues this year allows players in most cities across North America to find a group and join in the fun. Opening week is a celebration of our team’s hard work and what they’ve built to encourage players of all skill levels to enjoy and play more golf.” Klaus adds.
Co-Founder Matt Justine looks forward to his own league in Florida starting back up and is encouraged by the number of players already registering for rounds throughout the summer. “Opening week is an exciting time for Spark golfers and our team. Our relaxed vibe has really caught on over the past few years. Spark is stress-free team and individual golf that encourages faster play, and our two hour average league time lets golfers meet up and socialize after each round. Everyone is ready to get back out on the course and kick off our largest season to date.” He adds that, “Spark has not only helped people find a league that fits their schedule, but has created a program that fits every demographic. Our league teams are diverse and made up of men, women, partners, friends, siblings, co-workers and even new-found friends. Everyone is welcome to become a Spark golfer.”
The Spark team reviews feedback from thousands of players each week and uses it to enhance the overall player experience. Focusing on inclusivity, Spark brings people together from every background in every city to play more golf. Director of Operations, Kendall Hiller is inspired by the kinship that develops within the leagues. “We have learned about marriages, friendships and job opportunities that have come from the connections made out on the course each week. And we are thrilled to welcome a new season for our Spark community.” she adds.
