ORLANDO– As the cold ground thaws and the weather warms, Spark Golf, the leading provider of casual and social golf experiences, announces its expansion into the Canadian market for the 2024 season. With a focus to enhance accessibility to golf, Spark will kick off over 250 nine hole leagues across Canada this spring, more than doubling the number of course partners from last year.
Greg White, CPGA head golf professional at Cedarhill Golf and Country Club in Ottawa is preparing for another Spark season starting in May. “The course at Cedarhill is in fabulous shape this year, and we are excited to welcome back our Spark players. We have increased the size of our league to accommodate the growing demand and look forward to the Spark league coming back bigger and better for the 2024 season. The Spark team really helps make it easy for us to manage and grow the league.”
The Canadian golf market has experienced a surge in demand with recent reporting showing more regular weekly play among the roughly six million golfers across the country. Matt Justine, Spark Co-Founder, emphasized the company’s commitment to serving the Canadian market. “We plan to continue to grow Spark Golf in Canada to provide players with a fun, easy way to enjoy more golf,” said Justine. “We’re fortunate to be a part of the growing enthusiasm for more recreational and social golf at our partner courses.”
Increased interest means more new people getting introduced to the game and many of those do not know where to start. “Many players initially discover Spark online and then find our app to be a simple way to sign up and start playing. Spark takes the intimidation factor away by bringing like-minded players who are looking for a more relaxed and social version of on-course golf together,” said Co-Founder, Charlie KIaus. “We are passionate about helping golfers across Canada connect with their local courses and fellow players using our league technology and casual 9-hole format.”
