Sponsor Exemptions at the Pelican Women’s Championship, Nov. 7-13
BELLEAIR, Fla., – Tournament officials announced today three sponsor exemptions for the 2022 Pelican Women’s Championship presented by Konica Minolta and Raymond James, Tampa Bay’s signature LPGA Tour event taking place Nov. 7-13.
- Aline Krauter – Saddlebrook Prep golf alum and Member of the 2022 NCAA Women’s Team National Champions Stanford Cardinal. 2022 Dinah Shore Trophy Award Winner. Winner of The R&A’s Women’s Amateur Championship in 2020. Two-time NCAA Second Team All-American. Turned professional following graduation and has advanced through LPGA Qualifying Tournament Stage I.
- Azahara Munoz – LPGA Tour winner, four-time Solheim Cup participant and two-time Olympian. Returned to LPGA Tour competition in September following the birth of her son, Lucas, in February.
- Avery Zweig – High school sophomore from McKinney, Texas and junior/amateur golf standout. 2021 Volunteers of America Classic Girls Championship winner, T2 in 2022. Six top-10 finishes in AJGA events in 2022.
All three will join a stacked 120-player field at Pelican Golf Club for the penultimate and final full-field event for the 2022 LPGA Tour season, competing for a share of the $2 million purse. Seven of the top-10 and 15 of the top-20 in the world are early entries into the championship, the strongest field in the three-year history of the Pelican Women’s Championship.

Krauter, a member of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Team National Champions Stanford Cardinal, turned professional after graduation, making LPGA Tour debut at the Dana Open presented by Marathon. A two-time NCAA second-team All-American, Krauter also was the recipient of the 2022 Dinah Shore Trophy, recognizing women’s golf student athletes who has made an impact on and off the golf course and excelling in athletics and academics. A native of Stuttgart, Germany, won The R&A’s Women’s Amateur Championship in 2020 and graduated from Saddlebrook Preparatory School in Wesley Chapel prior to attending Stanford University.
Munoz is returning to LPGA Tour competition this fall following the birth of her son, Lucas, in February. A 12-year LPGA Tour veteran, four-time Solheim Cup winner and two-time Olympian, Munoz competed in the 2021 Pelican Women’s Championship, her final event prior to stepping way on maternity leave. She has made three consecutive cuts since returning to competition, including a T38 (Dana Open); T47 (Kroger Queen City Championship; and a T32 (Walmart NW Arkansas Championship).
Zweig, 15, of McKinney, Texas, is a high school sophomore and junior golf standout. She competed in the 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, finishing T25. She has six top-10 finishes in AJGA events in 2022. She also competed in The Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America the past two years as a sponsor exemption after winning the 2021 Volunteers of America Girls Classic and finishing runner-up in 2022. In 2018, at age 11, she competed in the U.S. Girls’ Junior, U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball and the U.S. Women’s Amateur. She is the youngest ever to reach match play in the U.S. Girls’ Junior and U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball, and among the youngest ever to compete in the U.S. Women’s Amateur.
Tickets are on sale for the 2022 Pelican Women’s Championship exclusively online at www.PelicanLPGA.com. Ticket packages include exclusive hospitality and general admission tickets offering a wide degree of entertainment and access. All 2022 tickets will be digital and will be emailed after purchase. Tickets can be viewed on either a mobile device or printed out where they will be scanned at the main gate.
2022 Pelican Women’s Championship Ticket Options: There are three ticket options for fans interested in attending The Pelican Women’s Championship:
- Daily Grounds:
- Wednesday, Nov. 9 (Pro-Am): $25.
- Thursday-Friday, Nov. 10-11: $35 per day.
- Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 12-13: $45 per day.
- Weekly Grounds:
- Wednesday-Sunday, Nov. 10-13: $125.
- Lightning Lounge:
- Offered in partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Lightning Lounge provides a shared-hospitality lounge at the tournament’s signature par-3 12th hole, which featured three holes-in-one in 2021. The Lightning Lounge includes complimentary food and beverages, TV’s, private bathrooms and parking.
- Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 10-13: $225 per day.
- Weekly (Thursday-Sunday): $800.
All military (active, reserve, retired and veterans) plus one will receive complimentary admission to the 2022 Pelican Women’s Championship by showing proper identification at Admissions in exchange for a daily grounds pass. Military and their plus one also will have access to the Hero Outpost presented by FedData, an exclusive covered viewing deck on the par-3 12th hole with complimentary snacks and beverages. Children 17-and-under will be admitted to the tournament free with a paid adult.
The 2021 Pelican Women’s Championship was contested in November at Pelican Golf Club with fans in attendance for the first time. Nelly Korda defeated Thompson, Lydia Ko and defending champion Sei Young Kim on the first playoff hole to capture her fourth victory in 2021 and seventh overall. The Pelican Women’s Championship made its debut in 2020, with Sei Young Kim capturing her 12th LPGA Tour victory.
