Springdale Golf Club will host the American Junior Golf Association’s AJGA Championship presented by Stuart Francis, Princeton Varsity Golf ’74, July 30th through August 1st. The AJGA Championship presented by Stuart Francis, Princeton Varsity Golf ’74, kicks off at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 30th with an AJGA Qualifier tournament for the final spots in the championship. The championship will begin Tuesday, July 31st with both the first and second rounds taking place that day under shotgun starts. The first round will begin at 8 a.m., while the second round will start at 2 p.m. The final round will take place on Wednesday, August 1st with tee times starting at 7 a.m. off the No. 1 tee. The field includes 15 juniors who hail from the home state of New Jersey. There are 18 college commits in the field and seven juniors ranked inside the top 150 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.
The AJGA Championship and new management agreement with Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, have helped create a renewed sense of energy and excitement around the club. Also fueling the momentum is Princeton University’s recent extension of the club’s licensing agreement, which carries forward the collaborative relationship enjoyed for more than 120 years.
“The club’s historical significance, unique William Flynn design, and challenging greens, blended with Troon’s operational expertise, will take Springdale Golf Club to the next level in member experience and commitment to the Princeton community,” said Kevin Tylus, board president, Springdale Golf Club.
Troon Privé assumed golf and club operations at Springdale on July 1st. As part of the management agreement, Full Springdale members, from Senior Individual to Resident Family, now have access to extraordinary golf and lifestyle experience benefits around the world through Troon. This includes Troon Privé Privilege, which provides reciprocal access to other Troon Prive-managed clubs from just $35/person per round, and Troon Advantage, which offers a 60-day booking window and up to 50 percent off Troon Golf-managed resort and daily fee clubs.
Springdale Golf Club is proud to be the home course for Princeton University’s men’s and women’s golf teams, which exemplifies the club’s mission to deliver an exceptional golf experience to men and women alike. Springdale offers several categories of membership, including individual, family, and junior memberships.
