WAYNE, PA — Europe’s largest Pro-Am, The St. James Place National Pro-Am, and BlueGolf, the industry leader for innovative systems for golf, have teamed up to bring a centralized registration portal that will be used by amateurs and professionals to sign up for local qualifiers.
The PGA of Great Britain and Ireland, which owns and operates the St. James Place National Pro-Am, has a successful history of utilizing BlueGolf systems, since 2010, to run The PGA’s 900+ annual tournaments.
“For 2022, we really wanted to streamline the registration process for the thousands of Professionals and Amateurs that will participate in this year’s Pro-Am. The BlueGolf team has worked diligently to both enhance online registration and optimize online schedules, resulting in an intuitive system and professional experience that benefits the participant and our tournament operators” said Head of Tournament Operations Chris Joyce.
The St. James’s Place National Pro-Am, which is expected to have thousands of golfers from across the UK and Ireland competing, will consist of club qualifiers, 12 Regional Finals, and an all-expenses paid trip to Turkey for the Grand Final. In the past, all registrations were handled locally by each individual club, which resulted in a complicated process.
With BlueGolf’s systems, all information will be conveniently managed in one console and participants will be able to easily locate the qualifier they wish to play in. BlueGolf’s built-in marketing tools for tournament staff will also make it easier to send notices to competitors of important updates or valuable information regarding their qualifier. As registration closes for each qualifier, The PGA staff will be able to easily provide each host Professional a roster of participants that have signed up for the tournament.
“We are excited to partner with The PGA and The St. James’s Place National Pro-Am to help make this year’s championship a resounding success” said BlueGolf CEO Ed Hughes. “Our systems will create a more efficient registration process and enhance the overall experience for The PGA staff and participants.”
