The Stanwich Club, located in Greenwich, Connecticut, approached Malcolm DeMille to help revamp their trophies for their annual tournament “The Witch.” The team at Stanwich Club wanted an award that preserves the supernatural theme while evoking elegance on the champion’s mantle. The designers at Malcolm DeMille conjured up a 6” witch’s hat crafted in bronze, plated in black cerakote with a hand-colored red band and finished with a black marble base.
The Head Golf Professional John Scali said, “The ‘Hats’ were amazing and made an unbelievable presentation. The players were so impressed. My only worry was that they would miss the full witch trophies but everyone, both winners and non-winners, thought they were so great and way better than the witches. I can’t thank you enough for all of the effort, guidance, time and professionalism you devoted to pull this off for us. Thank you so much!!”
In addition to the witch’s hat sculptures, Malcolm DeMille forged a scintillating money clip that presents a matching black witch’s hat with a red band, atop an eye-catching mother of pearl stone. The surrounding money clip top is plated in nickel and the text offset by black and red epoxy offering a sophisticated prize scored by “The Witch’s” Medalists.
