Steve Loerzel is the Director of TOUR Operations and Master Club Builder at PROTOCONCEPT GOLF, deeply involved in the game of golf since his youth. From ages 10 to 16, he worked at the Arnold Palmer Driving Range in Crystal Lake, IL, where he developed a passion for golf.
Afterward, Loerzel moved to California with his family and honed his skills in golf equipment repair at Custom Golf House, a repair facility in Orange County. The shop provided services to over 100 golf courses in Orange County and the greater Los Angeles area, handling warranty work for brands like Hogan, Power Built, Ping, and the Palmer Group. Over 17 years, his experience at Custom Golf House shaped his career.
Recognized for his talent in repair and club building, Loerzel joined Cleveland Golf. His arrival coincided with Corey Paven’s departure to PRGR, and as the TOUR program expanded, Loerzel mastered the craft of building clubs tailored to TOUR professionals’ needs.
His expertise led to the growth of Cleveland Golf’s TOUR department, serving over 20 TOUR players and extending his influence on the LPGA TOUR. Within four years, he was managing the production department, overseeing 120 employees and temporary staff.
Loerzel’s work with Cleveland Golf and the LPGA TOUR attracted the attention of Fourteen Golf, a high-performance Japanese golf brand. He dedicated eleven years to the company, contributing to both the LPGA TOUR and the WEB.COM TOUR, during which time the company amassed over 100 professional wins.
Before taking the helm of PROTOCONCEPT GOLF’s TOUR Department and Custom Fitting Program, Loerzel played a pivotal role in expanding Club Champion Fitting Stores, serving as their Build Shop Manager, and establishing their Build Shop, which streamlined the fastest growth.
