Blackhawk Country Club, a Tillinghast Design Joins StrackaLine Family
Madison, Wis., Club Will Offer Industry-Leading Greens Guides To Members
San Diego, Calif. – Blackhawk Country Club, an acclaimed A.W. Tillinghast design in Madison, Wis., will begin offering StrackaLine’s industry leading greens guides to its members.
The StrackaLine team took its state-of-the-art laser scanner to Blackhawk and scanned the greens, allowing the company to map each putting surface with accuracy down to the millimeter.
Blackhawk Country Club, which is part of the National Register of Historic Places, is routed along the shores of Lake Mendota, providing stunning views.
“We are delighted to be working with Blackhawk Country Club, a course rich with tradition and a forward-thinking leadership team,” said Jim Stracka, president of StrackaLine. “StrackaLine’s industry leading greens guides will help Blackhawk members better read greens and enhance their enjoyment of one of the state’s best courses.”
StrackaLine worked in conjunction with the USGA to ensure its greens guides were in compliance with the governing body’s new interpretation of Rule 4.3, allowing the company to continue to providing its best-in-the-game greens maps to professionals and amateurs.
StrackaLine scans courses for $1,500 and that includes 100 greens guides for resale. The scanning process takes five hours to complete and is unobtrusive to the golfer experience.
StrackaLine’s quality and accuracy have led to widespread adoption on the PGA, LPGA and Web .com tours, in addition to their use by more than 300 Division I college teams.
The greens maps, which feature easy to read arrows, allow players to view contour and fall lines, in addition to slope percentage, anywhere on the green.
StrackaLine now has 900+ courses scanned, including some of the nation’s most prominent layouts.
