StrackaLine Heads to North Dakota, Scans Oxbow Country Club
StrackaLine has scanned Oxbow Country Club, its first North Dakota course, and will produce its industry leading Greens Guides for the Robert Trent Jones Jr. layout.
StrackaLine’s scanning team was dispatched to Oxbow, located just minutes from Fargo, to scan the private club’s greens. It takes StrackaLine approximately five minutes to scan each green, collecting millions of data points that are used to create maps that are accurate down to the millimeter.
“StrackaLine has enjoyed tremendous growth over the last two years, and we are delighted to welcome Oxbow Country Club to the family,” company president Jim Stracka said. “We have scanned more than 1,000 courses from throughout the country, and we are looking forward to providing Oxbow members with the game’s premier greens guides.”
Oxbow made the decision to have its green scanned following a renovation project that concluded this year. The course combines stunning prairie views and striking bluegrass and fescues to create one of North Dakota’s most popular designs.
Oxbow is the latest course to join the StrackaLine team, which now includes more than 1,000 courses.
The quality and accuracy of StrackaLine’s greens guides have led to widespread adoption on the PGA, LPGA and Korn Ferry tours, in addition to their use by more than 300 Division I college teams.
StrackaLine scans courses for $1,500 and that includes 100 greens guides for resale. The scanning process takes five hours to complete and is unobtrusive to the golfer experience.
The greens maps, which feature easy to read arrows, allow players to view contour and fall lines, in addition to slope percentage, anywhere on the green.
