StrackaLine Scans The Haven Country Club, One Of Massachusetts’ Most Popular Facilities
Family-Focused Country Club Will Offer StrackaLine Greens Guides To Members
StrackaLine, a leading golf technology company, has scanned The Haven Country Club, one Massachusetts’ most popular clubs, and will be providing the family-focused facility with its industry-leading greens guides.
StrackaLine scanned the private course’s bentgrass putting surfaces, collecting millions of data points the company will use to create greens guides that are accurate down to the millimeter.
“The Haven Country Club is a forward-thinking club, and that makes it an ideal for partner for StrackaLine and our best-in-the-game greens guides,” said StrackaLine president Jim Stracka said. “The better people play, the more they tend to enjoy the game, and StrackaLine greens guides will provide golfers with information that can improve their play.”
The Haven is one of Central Massachusetts’ most popular private facilities, emphasizing the social component of the club, in addition to a golf course that is one of the region’s finest. The Haven has hosted both the men’s and women’s Massachusetts Opens, and the New England Pro-Pro Championship every year since 1976.
StrackaLine worked in conjunction with the USGA to ensure its greens guides were in compliance with the governing body’s new interpretation of Rule 4.3, allowing the company to continue to providing its best-in-the-game greens maps to professionals and amateurs.
StrackaLine’s quality and accuracy have led to widespread adoption on the PGA, LPGA and Web.com tours, in addition to their use by more than 300 Division I college teams.
StrackaLine scans courses for $1,500 and that includes 100 greens guides for resale. The scanning process takes five hours to complete and is unobtrusive to the golfer experience. With the spring season just weeks away, this is an ideal time for courses to schedule a scan.
StrackaLine now has 900+ courses scanned, including some of the nation’s most prominent layouts.
The greens maps, which feature easy to read arrows, allow players to view contour and fall lines, in addition to slope percentage, anywhere on the green.
Professional usage has helped drive interest in StrackaLine Greens Guides, and the technology is just as valuable to “regular” amateur golfers hoping to improve their score.
For golf course owners and operators, the technology can be used to improve pace of play and help ensure quality course conditions. StrackaLine offers hole location software that allows superintendents to utilize a proprietary algorithm to help set hole locations.
StrackaLine will continue to add to its library of golf courses throughout 2019. It takes just eight minutes to scan and capture an entire green and the StrackaLine team can complete an 18-hole course and practice green in five hours without disrupting play.
