TULSA, Okla. – Ohio State Senior and SuperSpeed Golf Brand Ambassador Maxwell Moldovan tied his career-low round with a second-round 65 to help the Ohio State golf team defeat some of the top golf programs in the country at the Southwestern Invitational. Moldovan finished 22nd overall in the three-round event, which took place Jan. 29-31 in Thousand Oaks, Ca. He finished the tournament under par for 23rd time in college career, including all four events this season.
Following an impressive junior year where earned 2nd Team All-American honors, Moldovan has a 69.50 scoring average across 12 rounds so far in his senior season, including seven rounds in the 60s. He has finished no worse than 22nd in any event this season and is now ranked 7th in the Golfweek Men’s Amateur Rankings.
Moldovan has recognized and credited his speed training with SuperSpeed Golf as part of his recent success. Through his speed training, Moldovan consistently exceeds 170 MPH driver ball speed. Since his freshman year at Ohio State, Moldovan’s swing speed has improved from cruising at 106 MPH to a max out speed of 122 MPH. Moldovan credits these gains to incorporating a custom drill program developed by SuperSpeed Golf into his training.
