First-time winner uses SuperStroke’s Zenergy 1.0P 21” putter grip in playoff triumph.
Wixom, MI – SuperStroke, the No. 1 Putter Grip in golf and the leader in innovative Tour-proven golf grip technology, congratulates 21-year-old PGA Tour player Akshay Bhatia on claiming his first-career victory after a one-hole sudden-death playoff at the Barracuda Championship. Playing in only his 36th start on the PGA Tour, Bhatia drained a clutch 15-foot putt on the par-4 18th hole at Tahoe Mountain Club to finish 72-hole regulation with 40 points in the modified Stableford scoring system. His par on the first hole of the sudden death playoff was enough to earn him the win plus full status on the PGA Tour and a spot in the FedEx Cup playoffs. Bhatia earned $684,000 in first place prize money.
Bhatia, now the 191st-ranked player on the Official World Golf Ranking and 92nd in FedEx Cup standings, was tied for 11th for the week in Putts-Per-Green-In-Regulation at the Barracuda and was tied for second in Birdies Made with 23, with help from his SuperStroke Zenergy 1.0P 21” putter grip, from SuperStroke’s popular Off the Truck series.
“Congratulations to Akshay Bhatia, a tremendous star-in-the-making, on his first-career victory at the Barracuda Championship,” says SuperStroke CEO Dean Dingman. “Akshay played and putted confidently and looked so incredibly in-control with his SuperStroke Zenergy 1.0P 21” ‘Off the Truck’ putter grip. Keep an eye on this wonderfully talented young player. This win could well be the first of many for him on the PGA Tour.”
Developed with direct feedback from Tour players, the SuperStroke Zenergy 1.0P 21” Off the Truck grip is SuperStroke’s longest length putter grip. With its extended length, the 1.0P 21” gives golfers the ability to armlock and grip lower down the shaft, enhancing stability and control.
