-The dynamic and innovative partners from The More Confident Golf Experience (MCGE) will lead pioneering educational sessions at the Home of the PGA of America-
MONTRĖAL, CA. – Swing Control, manufacturer of performance golf-centric apparel that works beautifully on and off the course, is proud to announce brand ambassadors Marcela Smith, director of Girlfriends Guide To Golf and Dr. Shannon Reece, sports psychologist, host of the She Talks Birdie Podcast, and founder of Training For Optimal Performance, will lead two educational sessions that address women and golf at the 2024 PGA Buying and Education Summit, PGA Frisco, TX.

The insightful and educational four star session, “Empowering Women in Golf: Leveraging Experiential Learning to Address Critical Mental, Emotional, and Social Needs is scheduled for Monday, July 29th from 12:00 (PM) to 12:50 (PM). Attendees will learn how to foster deeper connections between coaches and female golfers, enhances player performance by building confidence and managing stress to strengthen the golfing community. This session is a call to action for coaches to embrace a transformative and more holistic coaching methodology that celebrates and maximizes women’s potential in golf.
The second session, “There is Crying in Golf: How to Increase Harmonious Participation and Foster Resilience for Women through Experiential Learning,” is worth five stars and will navigate the unique mental, emotional, and social challenges women golfers face. It will be held on Monday, July 29th from 2:00 (PM) to 2:50 (PM). They will provide a fresh perspective on how to turn moments of tears and frustration into opportunities for empowerment, resilience, and community through innovative experiential learning strategies, from firsthand mindset training to interactive on-course rules experiences.
Marcela Smith, director of Girlfriends Guide To Golf, is passionate about helping women gain confidence on the golf course and feel more welcome in the sport. She has earned an Advanced Rules Certification from the USGA and teaches the rules at country clubs and resorts throughout the United States and abroad.
Dr Shannon Reece, sports psychologist, host of the She Talks Birdie Podcast, and founder of Training For Optimal Performance, teaches golfers the simple mental strategies they need to play consistently from tee to green. She received her M.Ed. and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia under the guidance of Dr. Bob Rotella.
