HARTFORD – SwingU, the golf technology and media company, announced today that Lee University, head men’s golf coach Evan Spence and head women’s coach Geandra Almeida have partnered with SwingU Coach to deliver advanced statistical reporting to their coaching staffs and team members.
Located in Cleveland, Tennessee, Lee University is a private Christian university and member of NCAA Division II competing in the Gulf South Conference. Both Coach Spence and Coach Almeida are former Flame golfers, having continued the successful traditions of the programs they inherited in recent years.
Spence, who was named head coach in July, helped lead Lee as an assistant coach in 2021 and 2022, Spence helped the 2021-22 team win the 2021 Cougar Invitational (Columbus State), the 2022 Saint Leo Invitational, the 2022 Gulf South Conference Championship and the 2022 NCAA National Championship.
Almeida led Lee to the Gulf South Conference Tournament Championship and was named the GSC Coach of the Year in 2022. Last season she helped lead the Lady Flames to a No. 10 national ranking, a tournament victory at the Lady Bearcat Invitational, nine top-five finishes in 11 events, South Region and National Championship appearances and guided the team into the Quarterfinals of Match Play for the first time in program history.
