HARTFORD  – SwingU, the sports technology and media company, is proud to announce that it has partnered with golf media personality Lauren Thompson as content host and a brand ambassador.

Thompson is an industry veteran who spent 10+ years as the primary host and personality with Golf Channel, most notably appearing on ‘Morning Drive.’ She currently works as a NBC Sports personality.

In her role as an ambassador with SwingU, Thompson will serve as a primary content host and she will share her journey to lower scores using SwingU’s products, technology and instructional library via her social media accounts where she connects with more than 120,000 followers.

“We’re very excited to bring Lauren on as a host and ambassador,” said Charles Cox, CEO at SwingU. “Her passion, energy and commitment to getting better are exactly what we embody at SwingU.”

“As a brand, it is extremely important for golfers of all abilities to know that our technology will help them play better golf and ultimately achieve their target handicap. As someone who is passionate about the journey to better golf, and is playing in celebrity & charity tournaments regularly, Lauren was the perfect fit as we look to grow and help golfers of all abilities and backgrounds.”

As a relatively new golfer, Thompson has been taking monthly lessons with her instructor, Andy O’Brien, and is determined to improve her game. Shortly after signing with SwingU, Thompson broke 90 for the first time.

In just a few short months, Thompson’s handicap has dropped more than 10 strokes, from a 25 to 14.

“I’m trying to get to a 10-handicap. I started off as about a 25 and I’m at about a 14 now,” Thompson said. “One of the coolest things and most helpful things has been SwingU and SwingU Premium. It’s really simple, it’s really quick and easy to do, and it’s what I’m using to accomplish my summer golf goals.”

Thompson will be featured in SwingU promotion, marketing and advertising in the coming weeks and months as well as appearing on SwingU’s behalf at various events over the course of the year.
