HARTFORD — SwingU, the golf technology and media company, announced today the company is entering into a strategic partnership with The Payne Stewart Kids Golf Foundation (PSKGF) ahead of the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, the site of Payne Stewart’s iconic victory 25 years ago in 1999.
“Sharing a commitment to grow the game of golf, we have been particularly impressed by The Payne Stewart Kids Golf Foundation’s work in all communities, especially those underserved in the golf space,” said Haris Čehić, SwingU’s Chief Revenue Officer. “As an inner-city youth who never played golf, this is very special to me. We see this partnership as a collaborative effort to make a real impact.”
As part of the partnership, SwingU will aid the PSKGF by providing marketing assistance in the build-up to the 2024 U.S. Open while the PSKGF will promote SwingU in and around Pinehurst before and during the U.S. Open.
“We are thrilled to team up with SwingU and their efforts to get more kids and minorities trying golf,” said Colby Morris, Director of the Payne Stewart Kids Golf Foundation. “Our joint effort is making a huge difference in bringing more underprivileged families to the golfing community.”
This month, the PSKGF will be on the ground in Pinehurst, North Carolina as the village prepares for the 124th U.S. Open. The PSKGF’s activities will be centered out of their home base at The Village Chapel.
On Saturday, June 8, the PSKGF will host the Payne Stewart Golf Experience at the U.S. Open Fan Experience area.
On Wednesday, June 12 at Pinehurst, golf legend Peter Jacobsen will host MatchPlay, a fan-driven live event experience that gives audiences the chance to showcase their knowledge and passion for golf. A virtual MatchPlay game will be available to remote audiences from Thursday, June 13 through Sunday, June 16. Fans can participate and compete to win prizes by making a donation to the PSKGF.
