HARTFORD — SwingU, the golf technology and media company, announced today that it will sponsor The South Florida Junior Golf Tour and become the circuit’s exclusive golf GPS rangefinder, strokes gained data and game-improvement app.
The sponsorship will see SwingU expand its reach to thousands of elite junior golfers, providing the players and their coaches & parents with industry-leading features such as tee-to-green caddie tools, including all StrackaLine green-reading maps globally, strokes gained statistics and prescriptive practice plans & drills.
The SFJGT was founded by Rick Whitfield, PGA, a long-time golf professional who has not only played in the British Senior Open and Senior PGA Championship but also ran two successful tours, and Chuck Knebels, a long-time golf professional and player in Florida and Georgia has built lasting relationships with college coaches around the country.
“We are very proud to have partnered with The South Florida Junior Golf Tour,” said Charles Cox, CEO of SwingU. “Our team is laser-focused on providing amateur golfers, including competitive juniors, the same suite of tools a tour professional leverages, from caddie to data coach to practice planning. We’re excited to facilitate the next generation of elite golfers as they chase their dreams on the SFJGT & beyond.”
The goals of the Tour are to give aspiring junior golfers opportunities to develop their tournament skills while enjoying a quality tournament atmosphere. The SFJGT does this by enhancing the players’ skills in tournament golf and teaching them the finer points of the USGA Rules of Golf under competitive conditions. Through these goals, the SFJGT aims to highlight junior golfers’ achievements to colleges, other tournament sponsors, and local & national media.
The SFJGT will host 10 events between June and August of 2023. You can learn more about the Tour, its membership and events at SFJGT.com.
