Updated Women’s Set Engineered to Deliver High, Longer Shots with Greater Ease and Distinctive Distance Differences from Club to Club
CARLSBAD, Calif. – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company has introduced an updated version of Miscela, a set of golf clubs specially engineered to meet the needs of committed women golfers. The 10-club set consists of a 380cc titanium driver, stainless steel 3-wood, three hybrids 4, 5 and 6) and five irons (7-, 8-, 9-, pitching wedge and sand wedge).
The new Miscela features a large, 380cc titanium model compared to the original’s smaller, stainless steel model. The new driver features a larger, confidence-building footprint at address and incorporates a lower center of gravity (CG) that makes it easier to launch the ball on a higher and longer flight.
The new Miscela hybrids, which take the place of the long and middle irons, feature a broad smooth sole and exceptionally low CG and high moment of inertia (MOI), making them exceptionally easy to launch the ball into the air with.
The new Miscela irons are engineered with a shallower clubface and lower profile, giving them an inherently low CG position that makes it easier to launch the ball higher and longer, making it easier to attain a significant difference in distance from club to club.
“TaylorMade hasn’t lost sight of the fact that a common problem among women golfers is that they hit many of their clubs approximately the same distance,” said Gary Gallagher, manager of irons wedges and putters. “Like our original Miscela, the new Miscela is also engineered to deliver significantly different distances from one club to the next.”
Likewise, every new Miscela club is engineered to deliver a high launch angle and high spin-rate. The higher launch angle promotes a higher trajectory, while the higher spin-rate helps keep the ball in the air longer. The result is longer carry for significantly longer distance, plus the added advantage of softer landings – a great benefit for women tired of hitting low, hot approaches that skip across the green and over the back.
At the same time, all clubs in the new Miscela set are equipped with ultra-light, low-kick graphite shafts that promote added swing speed, a powerful release through impact and a higher launch angle – all of which promote increased yardage.
“Miscela succeeds at blending performance and elegance in a single set of clubs like never before,” says chief technical officer Benoit Vincent. “Everything from the titanium driver to the hybrid clubs to the low-profile, cavityback irons is designed to be easy to look at and easy to have confidence in. Each club combines a low center-of-gravity with a high moment-of-inertia to make every club effortless to launch long, high and straight.”
The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $700 for the 7-club set and $1,200 for the 10-club set. Availability will begin at TaylorMade’s retail partners starting in November 2005.
