TeeOff Customers Can Support Efforts to Generate More Opportunities for Youth Sports Programs by “Rounding Up”
ORLANDO, Fla. – In celebration of National Golf Day and National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, NBC Sports Group’s tee-time booking platform, TeeOff, and the National Fitness Foundation (NFF) today announced a joint initiative designed to generate funds to help get kids active and physically fit through youth sports participation.
As published reports have detailed, in the midst of the pandemic and subsequent social distancing guidelines, youth fitness and sports-related activities and opportunities came to a near halt. Through this joint effort, TeeOff and the NFF are doing their part to help raise funds to support efforts to turn the summer of 2021 into the summer of youth sports and games.
A round-up campaign on TeeOff.com, beginning today, May 12, and running through the end of the month, will allow anyone booking a golf tee time through the online service the opportunity to round up the total cost of the reservation to an even-dollar figure. For example, if the cost of a tee time totals $37.45, the golfer can elect to round up the cost to $38, donating the additional $0.55 to NFF and helping fund local youth sports programs across America.
TeeOff’s online tee time marketplace connects millions of golfers with tee times at golf courses worldwide. The round-up campaign is a part of Better Together, a community impact initiative supported by the Digital and Consumer Businesses within NBC Sports Group.
“Kids everywhere are eagerly anticipating their summer break, and we’re proud to be joining with the National Fitness Foundation to help encourage the youth of America to get outside and be active,” said Jenna Soule, Sr. Director of Community Impact, NBC Sports Digital & Consumer Businesses. “We’re excited to be lending the resources of our leading tee-time marketplace to further the Foundation’s mission to provide our youth with equal access to sports, no matter who they are or where they live.”
The NFF is America’s leading and trusted voice in the national youth sport and physical fitness movement. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to supporting programs, which ensure all children, regardless of their zip code, have equal access to sport and fitness opportunities.
“The National Fitness Foundation is pleased to be joining with NBC Sports and TeeOff, to drive awareness and funds to support the urgent need to get our nation’s youth outside and playing sports and games this summer,” stated NFF Executive Director, Clay Walker. “On behalf of the NFF, I want to thank all the golfers in advance who generously round-up their tee times in support of youth fitness. No amount is too little, and every contribution will have a positive impact on efforts to secure safe sport and fitness opportunities for all.”
