NEW CREDIT CARD SURCHARGING TECHNOLOGY ENSURES ONLY ELIGIBLE CARDS ARE CHARGED A PROCESSING FEE.

The technology automatically assesses each transaction to determine its eligibility for applying a credit card surcharge based on the type of card presented.

DALLAS, TX. – TenFore Golf, a provider of innovative cloud-based golf management software, hardware, and integrated payment solutions, continues its commitment to providing course owners with the industry’s best technology by releasing its new surcharging software solution.

New technology offered by TenFore Golf, in association with its credit card processing partner, allows courses to offset some of their credit card processing costs while knowing that only eligible cards are being surcharged. Surcharging allows merchants to add a “% checkout fee” to a credit card transaction, paid by the cardholder, to help cover the merchant’s credit card processing fees.

How it Works:  The gateway automatically assesses each transaction to determine its eligibility for applying a credit card surcharge based on the type of card presented and the cardholder’s postal code (card-not-present only). If the Gateway determines that the card used is not a credit card (for example, a debit card) or that the postal code associated with the account is a surcharge-restricted location, then the surcharge is waived. Otherwise, a surcharge is automatically added to the subtotal amount. Receipts will automatically include the required disclaimers and tips and refund processing is built in. The facility is required to display the appropriate signage explaining the surcharge to customers.

“Golf courses spend thousands of dollars on credit card processing fees annually. Many owners are interested in passing some of these fees on to their customers but have hesitated based on the complexities of the laws that must be followed, said TenFore’s Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Wride. Working with our processing partner, we now offer software that automatically determines a customer’s eligibility to be charged a processing fee, whether paying at the golf course or online. This allows owners to save some processing costs while knowing laws are being followed.”
