TGA Premier Sports and Loyola Marymount Golf Team to Host Kid-Friendly Attractions at Genesis Invitational
Representatives from TGA Premier Sports (TGA) Southern California chapters and members of the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) men’s golf team will take part in a host of fan-friendly attractions at this year’s Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club February 10-16.
TGA and LMU will run fan-friendly exhibitions in the Family Village area to give attendees a peek into TGA’s dynamic after school introductory golf programs held at area schools and community centers, as well as camps and leagues at local golf courses. Through short fun-filled, demonstrations, young tournament attendees will participate in TGA’s interactive junior golf demonstrations that cleverly combine golf instruction with STEM-based academic lessons (Science, Technology, English and Math).
“The Genesis Invitational is one of the premier global PGA TOUR events that showcases the sports’ top talent on a storied venue. The tournament brings golf lovers from all over Southern California, so we relish the opportunity to expose young attendees and their families to the life lessons golf brings into the lives of so many,” says TGA CEO Joshua Jacobs. “Working with LMU Men’s Head Golf Coach Jason D’Amore and his players gives the tournament attendees the ability to meet and interact with collegiate coaches and players and inspire the next generation of golfers showcasing where they can take their passion for the sport.”
In addition to TGA’s activities in TGA’s area, the Family Village at the Genesis Invitational, located left of the third green and adjacent to 17th, will include United Airlines’ nine-hole Putting Course, the ever-popular TGR Learning Lab (powered by CDW and Microsoft Surface), picnic tables and concession area and a terrific view of the 14th Green.
Tournament spectators can take part in a full array of youth-focused entertainment areas and activations. From complimentary youth tickets to a free youth golf exhibition, the Genesis Invitational will offer a full array of attractions just for kids, including three youth-designated spectator zones at the 8th, 10th and 14th greens. These areas provide special access for young fans and feature upgraded viewing experiences.
TGA Premier Sports staffers and LMU coaches and players will be interacting with young fans and other youth-oriented presenters in the tournament’s Family Village, providing information on local TGA programs as well golf camps at select golf courses.
TGA impacts communities by introducing sports that empower kids directly into schools and community centers through before- or after-school enrichment programs, spurring participation in a way that starts at the grassroots level but has national implications.
TGA creates an accessible player pathway for students and their families to build on their new-found golf passion and advance further in the sport. From introductory programs, to recreational camps, clinics and family programs, engagement in these programs are leading juniors to participating in other national golf programs, as well as playing on high school and college teams.
On Saturday February 15, the Genesis Invitational will present a free interactive demonstration just for kids on The Riviera Country Club driving range, allowing young spectators to learn from professionals in a group setting and pick up useful expert tips.
