TGL PRESENTED BY SOFI RETURNS FOR SEASON 2 WITH ENHANCEMENTS & EXPANDED INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION

December 22, 2025

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. – TGL presented by SoFi, the primetime golf league featuring six teams of PGA TOUR stars, returns Sunday for its second season. Following a comprehensive evaluation of its inaugural season, TGL will debut enhancements across every facet – elevating storytelling, delivering new competition elements, and improving the fan experience – to further engage audiences around its emerging platform for team golf.

TGL’s Season 2 opening match is a Finals rematch featuring New York Golf Club vs. defending champion Atlanta Drive GC on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 3 p.m. ET on ABC, the league’s broadcast network debut. Lineups will be announced tonight on ESPN’s SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt.

Competition and Broadcast Enhancements: In addition to unveiling TGL’s renovated, larger green complex and an expanded catalog of virtual holes – both designed to amplify teams’ risk-reward decisions and test their shot-making skills – new elements of Season 2’s broadcasts will elevate the contextual storytelling and help demystify the competitive drama inherent to TGL’s match-play format:

  • Virtual Eye Shot Comparison, AR Graphics and Shot Tracing: Seeing where each team is positioned on a hole is key to understanding who has the advantage in match play, and TGL’s new shot comparison graphics use Virtual Eye technology to deliver that visual context in the fairway and around the green. Data-rich, augmented-reality graphics overlaid on the green will also illustrate shot quality at pivotal moments by comparing to team averages and the best approach ever on that hole. And live shot tracing will track balls in flight before they hit TGL’s massive screen, the largest simulator in all of golf.
  • New Cameras, Virtual Angles, and Shot Tracing: SoFi Center is equipped with 79 cameras to capture every angle of a TGL match, including the return of the award-winning SmartPin Cam, which provides live, 360-degree views from the perspective of the pin flag. Slow-motion, 8K cameras capable of zooming and reframing for pinpoint replays will enable detailed swing analysis. And new virtual camera angles, such as a reverse shot from a fairway back to the tee or hovering perspective above the green, will transport audiences to unique vantage points possible only within TGL’s virtual holes.
  • TGL Analyst Roberto Castro: Former PGA TOUR professional Roberto Castro will be joining the broadcast as TGL’s analyst, alongside ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt, Matt Barrie and Marty Smith. A member of TGL’s initial development team, Castro will explain competitive elements like teams’ approaches to hole designs or their strategic use of the Hammer, a fan-favorite twist to TGL’s scoring. Castro is uniquely qualified for this role, having helped craft the format, rules, and test the technology throughout TGL’s development.

Global Footprint Spans 152 Countries and Territories: TGL will be available in 152 countries and territories, up from 130 last season. New partners include India (FanCode), Thailand (Golf Channel Thailand), and the Pacific Islands region (Digicel). TGL’s roster of media partners includes premier sports media platforms: beIN (Southeast Asia), Canal+ (France), Claro (South America), Disney+ (Nordics), ESPN (U.S.), Fox Sports Australia (Australia), JTBC (South Korea), Sky Sports (U.K., select European markets), SportsNet (Canada), STARZPLAY (MENA), SuperSport (Africa) and U-Next (Japan). This new “listen-in” capability provides fans access to the broadcast commentary from ESPN or SiriusXM radio; or they can follow feeds of each team’s conversations as they strategize throughout their match.
  • CÎROC Athletic Club: Overlooking TGL’s field of play, the newly reimagined and expanded CÎROC Athletic Club offers a shared, luxury hospitality suite experience, featuring upgraded amenities and all-inclusive food and full bar service.
  • In-House Match Production: An energized environment within SoFi Center will be led by an expanded in-house team, including the return of MC Roger Steele and DJ Irie, as well as Claire Rogers providing reports throughout SoFi Center and NHL Florida Panthers PA announcer Andrew Imber adding his voice to the production.
