CRISTIE KERR JOINS THE G2 ACADEMY IN SUPPORT OF NEW GIRLS ONLY GOLF PROGRAM
The G2 Academy is pleased to announce partnership with 2-time Major Champion, Former Women’s World Golf Ranking #1, and 24 career winner, Cristie Kerr. Kerr joins G2 to support the first all-girls junior golf boarding academy’s mission of creating a female-centric environment for elite junior golfers to train while teaching empowerment and leadership off the course.
Kerr is passionate about supporting The G2 Academy, and believes programs designed exclusively for female athletes are overdue. “I am excited to be involved with the first all-girls junior golf boarding academy. I look forward to forming relationships with the students and serving as a positive influence as they pursue their dreams of collegiate and professional golf.”, states Kerr.
Her success as a junior and amateur have inspired Kerr to commit to supporting the new all-girls program. Kerr won the 1994 Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship and the 1995 Women’s Western Amateur. She was recognized in 1995 as the AJGA Junior Player of the Year, played in the 1996 Curtis Cup, and was Low Amateur at the 1996 Women’s U.S. Open.
Through the partnership, The G2 Academy students will have the opportunity to interact with Kerr face-to-face and go inside the ropes during practice rounds of specific LPGA Events. “I would have loved to have had other girls with the same interests and passions to train with as a junior golfer. I am truly excited for these girls and believe in the mission of G2.”, states Kerr.
“We are so thrilled to have Cristie as part of our team,” states Ray Travaglione, G2 Founder and CEO. “Her support for the G2 model and incredible history as a player, activist, and entrepreneur make her a great partner for this new all-girls academy and role model for our students,” he adds.
