Dallas, Texas – The All Pro Tour (APT), a professional golf tour serving as a path to the PGA TOUR, will be heading to Victoria, Texas for The Mac Haik and Lincoln Victoria Open Championship. The 4-day tournament will feature a field of PGA TOUR-bound hopefuls competing at the beautiful Victoria Country Club.
“We have traditionally had very strong fields at the Mac Haik and Lincoln Victoria Open,” said Gary DeSerrano, president of the APT. “The hard greens and windy conditions in south Texas have presented a tough challenge every year.”
The tournament is scheduled for March 30-April 2, 2022. The week will include practice rounds, a pro-am and a 72-hole championship concluding on Saturday, April 2nd. The purse is expected to be $130,000 with the tournament champion taking home an estimated $25,000.
“This APT Tour event is the largest event that is hosted in Victoria,” said Joe Mitchell, Tournament Director for the Mac Haik and Lincoln Victoria Open. “Having over 300 people visit our community for six or seven days, is a big boost to the economy. This is the longest running event on the APT Tour schedule.”
Since 1996, this tournament has been unique to the Victoria area and continually looks forward to another year of showcasing the game of golf at a professional level. Not to mention, donations from this year’s event will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Victoria. Donations will help support the organization and improve their summer programs.
“It’s hard to believe, but Victoria CC has hosted an All Pro Tour event for 26 years,” said DeSerrano. Nearly half the field at this year’s tournament weren’t even born when the tournament began. Joe Mitchell and the host committee have always welcomed the pros with good hospitality. ”
Current PGA TOUR players that played in Victoria include Ryan Palmer, Andrew Landry, Brice Garnett, Max McGreevy (past champion and course record holder of 61), Brice Garnett, Josh Creel and Taylor Montgomery.
“The community always looks forward to the APT Tour visiting Victoria,” said Mitchell. “Our local businesses love having these guys, their caddies and families partaking in their restaurants, movie theater and sleeping in the local hotels. Players should expect good ole Southern hospitality. We make the players feel like this is their home for a week!”
Admission is free for practice rounds and tournament-play spectatorship. To participate in the pro-am tournament, become a sponsor, or to volunteer, please contact Joe Mitchell at jmitchell@victoriacc.com.
