NEW YORK NEW YORK- With just one week to go to its global events, Women’s Golf Day along with Callaway and Topgolf took center stage at the New York Stock Exchange (Tuesday 25th May), as WGD Founder Elisa Gaudet rang the Opening Bell from the iconic podium. As well as signifying the beginning of the day’s trading, this Opening Bell also marked the start of WGD’s first ever online event WGD Palooza, which generated over 4.2 M impressions for #womensgolfday in less than 3 hours!
“It was such a honor to ring the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange on the same day as out first ever WGD Palooza,” commented Ms Gaudet “It is incredible to see how far we come in just 6 years, and I am thrilled to have shared this experience with such a fantastic group of women, and men, from Callaway and Topgolf who are committed to growing the female market. Women’s Golf Day continues to create more opportunity and unity for women through golf. WGD has helped bring women to the forefront of the conversation and we greatly appreciate the opportunity that the NYSE has given us to further amplify our message.”
WGD Palooza attracted viewers from all over the world who were treated to 2-hours of fantastic content. The tour of The World Golf Hall of Fame proved incredibly popular and included insider insights into its famous golf members’ exhibits. Viewers also enjoyed hearing Callaway’s Kim Johnson and Mackenzie Mack in conversation with Callaway Staff Professional Annika Sorenstam. Other guest appearances included Lisa Longball and Kate Rose, wife of Tour star Justin and co-founder of the Rose Ladies Series in the UK. Other features included instructional items such as the importance of ball fitting, courtesy of WGD’s ball partner Titleist and a WGD Roundtable, made up of a panel of some of the most influential women and men in golf. The event culminated in a chat from the famous Murray Brothers’ Caddyshack!
Ms Gaudet continued, “WGD Palooza has been such a great event to create with our partners
and supporters that gives everyone an opportunity to shine and share their story. We are now days away from our June 1st events around the world and I cannot wait to see photos of women and girls, wearing red and white, playing golf and socialising together. This is where it all started from and after a year where we haven’t always been able to meet our friends and family its feels more special than ever.”
There is still time to find an official Women’s Golf Day event on June 1st, many of which are free of charge. Events take place in a wide variety of locations including Topgolf venues and all PGA TOUR Superstores, as well as traditional golf courses and driving ranges.
