TIM COOKE OF THE SEA PINES RESORT SELECTED FOR “TOP 100 TEACHERS” HONOR
GOLF Magazine Recognizes Director of Golf Learning Center as one of America’s best instructors
Tim Cooke, Director of Instruction at The Golf Learning Center at The Sea Pines Resort, has been named to the list of Top 100 Teachers in America for 2019-2020.
The biennial rankings are compiled by GOLF Magazine, which recognizes the most innovative, committed, and accomplished teachers in the country. It is the second consecutive year Cooke has been selected for the prestigious honor.

Cooke, 43, who joined The Sea Pines Resort in 2013, holds a master’s degree in pedagogy from the University of Virginia and earned Master Professional in Instruction status from the PGA of America in 2009. His numerous honors and recognition include PGA Carolinas Section Teacher of the Year, U.S. Kids Top 50 Instructor, and national Top 50 Growth of the Game Teaching Professional.
More than 20 junior golfers coached by Cooke have made the jump to collegiate golf in the past five years. Cooke also has worked with professionals on the PGA, LPGA, and Web.com tours. Cooke has appeared on Golf Channel ’s “The Turn” as well as on GolfChannel.com’s “Weekly Fix,” and has authored instructional articles for GOLF, Golf Digest, and Golf Illustrated. He resides on Hilton Head with his wife Kara and their two children.
Since its inception in 1991, GOLF’s Top 100 Teachers in America rankings have established the industry standard for recognizing excellence in coaching. The biennial process is powered by the Top 100 Teachers Credentials Committee and is the only national golf instructor search that combines outside academic and PGA peer review.
Candidates are screened against 15 baseline criteria, including their teaching experience and accomplishments, student portfolio, and peer ratings, along with their overall commitment to the growth of the game.
