Rockford Park District adds five courses to the free eGull Pay app
CARLSBAD, CA, April 28, 2018 – eGull, Inc., the “Uber of Golf” and number one solution to allow golf operators to invite golfers to Play and Pay by the Hole™, continues on its growth trajectory announcing that Rockford Park District in Rockford, IL added their 5 courses to the eGull Pay App.
Added were Aldeen Golf Club, Sinnissippi Golf Course, Sandy Hollow Golf Course, Ingersoll Golf Course and Elliott Golf Course. All in Rockford IL.
“As we all know, the golf industry has changed a lot in the past several years and one of the biggest challenges to the game today is peoples time” shared Duncan Geddes, PGA Professional
and Director of Golf for Rockford Park District. “There just aren’t as many people who can take four hours to play a round of golf let alone several times a week as they have in the past. We’ve heard from some of our patrons that they would be interested in picking how many holes they have time to play. In order for us to grow the game of golf, we need to listen to our customers, maximize all revenue options to become less dependent on tax subsidy, and continue to provide outstanding customer service.”
“With the eGull pay per hole technology we are hoping to be able to fill in open tee times with players looking to squeeze in a little time on the course” added Geddes. “We think there is a market for people who might have time over the lunch hour or maybe while kids are at soccer practice. Maybe a spouse, kids, or grandkids who aren’t avid golfers and wouldn’t want to pay for a full round would give this a try. There may be physical or health limitations keeping a golfer from wanting to play a full round. In all of those situations, the ability to play the number of holes of their choice is a great option. Our job is to promote the game and utilizing technology to do that thanks to eGull pay per hole has a lot of upside potential to help us do that!”
“We are excited to start seeing real interest from municipalities around the country” said Pascal Stolz, CEO eGull USA “and Rockford Park District joins the Kalamazoo Municipal Golf Association and the Milwaukee County Park District to the eGull Platform mostly for the same reasons – time is part of the modern way of life.” Chet Hendickson, Golf Services Manager for the Milwaukee Park District added “Many occasional golfers prioritize time differently and don’t like to commit to a full round of golf. Now they can have both. From an operator standpoint, we have lost countless 18 rounds in Q1 due to weather. It’s very difficult to recoup these full rounds with 18 hole full price rounds. eGull Pay gives us an opportunity to drive incremental revenue to fill gaps in our tee sheet and recoup lost rounds one hole at a time.”
Operating eGull Pay is simple, the app is free to golfers and set up is free to golf courses. A golfer downloads the free app, makes a request to play a participating golf course and checks-in at the pro-shop. The Pro shop generates a 4 digit code through the eGull Pay software and share it with the player to activate the GPS tracking on their smartphone. Golfers play as many holes as they have time for and when they are done they end the round on the app and their credit card is automatically charged. eGull and the course share in the revenue.
