Naples, Fla. – Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples is set to host the PGA TOUR Champions’ Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO, April 12 – 18. The Chubb Classic marks the third professional event Tiburón has hosted in five months following last December’s QBE Shootout, which featured golfers from the PGA TOUR, and the LPGA Tour’s CME Group Tour Championship.
Unlike the QBE Shootout and CME Group Tour Championship which were played on Tiburón’s Gold Course, the 2021 Chubb Classic will be contested on the Black Course at Tiburón. Many of the game’s legends will be competing for the $1.6 million purse, including former major champions Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples, Retief Goosen, Mark O’Meara and Mike Weir, as well as World Golf Hall of Fame and Team Troon member Colin Montgomerie.
“Tiburón is proud to host three professional events in Naples,” said Tiburón Golf Club General Manger Kevin DeDonato, PGA. “This could not be done without the hard work and dedication of our entire team. Putting our facility on the national stage three times in the last five months is quite an honor and we could not do this without the great support of our partners at Troon, Wasserman, Eiger, Ritz, and many others. We look forward to great success with this PGA TOUR Champions event and are excited to once again showcase Naples and our facility.”
Tournament organizers announced in March that The Chubb Classic will not sell tickets to the general public for this year’s tournament due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns.
