Tim Petrovic Finishes 2nd at PGA Tour Champions Sanford International with Four Exotics Metalwoods In Play
A total of 14 1st and 2nd Place Finishes for Tour Edge on the 2018 PGA Tour Champions
Another week, another top finish for players using Tour Edge Exotics clubs on the PGA Tour Champions. This week at the inaugural Sanford International in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Tim Petrovic shot three solid rounds of 68-68-65 to lead him to a 2nd place finish at the Minnehaha Country Club.
Petrovic played four Tour Edge Exotics clubs to perfection in the windy conditions to a 9-under-par score and his fourth runner-up finish of the 2018 season.
In the bag was an Exotics CBX 15 degree 3-wood, an Exotics CBX 18 degree 5-wood and two Exotics CBX Iron-Woods, according to the Darrell Survey.
Petrovic ranks 10th on the Charles Schwab Cup money list after earning $140,000 with the runner-up finish this week.
The 2nd place finish earned Exotics clubs their ninth runner-up finish on top of their five wins on the PGA Tour Champions this season. That accounts for a 1st or 2nd place finish in 68% of all the Champions events played this season.
“Tim Petrovic is playing lights out this season and has been the ultimate ambassador to the Tour Edge brand,” said President of Tour Edge David Glod. “He’s been a big part of Exotics being able to collect 14 total 1st and 2nd place finishes this season. I don’t believe anyone else can make that claim with metalwoods!”
Also finishing in the Top 10 of the event this week was Tour Edge Exotics staffer Rocco Mediate. Mediate fired a 68 in the final round at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club playing his trusty 19-degree Exotics CBX with a Fujikura Pro 95 shaft for his 7th Top 10 finish of the season. It was his second straight Top 10 finish, following up a 5th place finish last week at the Ally Challenge.

Five PGA Tour Champions players finished in the Top 20 of the Sanford International playing Exotics metalwoods and 13 total Exotics clubs were put into play this week, according to the Darrell Survey.
Petrovic and Mediate both finished in the Top 10, while Exotics staffers Scott McCarron and Duffy Waldorf both finished 14th this week. A non-endorsed player finished 17th with an Exotics in play to give Tour Edge their 90th Top 25 finish on the PGA Tours so far this year.
In all, 46 different PGA Tour Champions professionals have put over 290 Exotics CBX clubs into play since Exotics CBX was launched to the tour in the last year.
There have been five winners on the 2018 PGA Tour Champions playing Exotics: two-time winner Scott McCarron at the Shaw Charity Classic Sept. 2nd and the American Family Insurance Championship June 24th, Bart Bryant at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open on August 19th, Lehman at the Principal Charity on June 10th and the non-endorsed winner of the 2018 Chubb Classic in February.
On top of the five victories and nine runner-up finishes, players using Tour Edge clubs have earned 28 Top 5 finishes and 49 Top 10 finishes in 22 events played this season on the PGA Tour Champions.
Seven Exotics staff players currently rank in the Top 35 of the Charles Schwab Cup money standings, including McCarron in 2nd, Tim Petrovic at 10th, Lehman at 16th, Bryant at 20th, Mediate at 26th, Duffy Waldorf at 29th and Scott Dunlap at 32nd.
The PGA Tour Champions season continues September 28th with the PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach.
About Exotics CBX
Exotics CBX are the only metal woods ever designed to feature a Titanium face, stainless steel body and carbon fiber sole. The Exotics CBX hybrid’s higher CG is located slightly forward in the club head through the use of a carbon fiber in the sole, which is significantly lighter than stainless steel. This helps to increase ball speed and reduce spin, which makes for less dispersion. Tour Edge’s extremely thin Beta-titanium cup-face enlarges the ideal hitting area on the clubs.

It is brazed to stainless steel behind the hitting area which allows the face to flex more at impact, while the Speed Ramp sole design provides reduced turf interaction so the club can maintain its speed through the hitting area.
World-renowned golf website My Golf Spy recently named the Exotics CBX its “Most Wanted Fairway Wood of 2018”. In what is being described by the popular site as the most comprehensive and unbiased independent fairway wood test conducted in the world, My Golf Spy tested 24 different fairway woods over a hundred hours with almost 5,000 shots used to collect over 200,000 data points in order to name Exotics CBX the best fairway wood of 2018.
The Tour Edge Exotics CBX fairway woods, Exotics CBX hybrids and Exotics CBX Iron-Woods are currently available at select authorized Tour Edge retailers.
