LAKE MARY, FL – Timacuan Golf & Country Club is hosting the Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream Junior All-Star next week. The prestigious tournament is an official event on the American Junior Golf Association calendar and will feature 78 outstanding male and female golfers between the ages of 12 and 15.
The AJGA is conducting the 54-hole junior competition Tuesday through Thursday next week on the highly acclaimed Ron Garl layout. The public is invited to watch the action free of charge. Players from across the USA and other countries like Ukraine and China have qualified for this tournament.
“We are excited to showcase our golf course to some of the game’s most promising junior golfers,” said Timacuan Director of Golf Ben Knapp. “Tournament players really enjoy the challenge and diversity of our layout. With a variety of tee boxes and pin placements, 
players will see a different golf course each day.”
Timacuan has been among the most popular tournament courses in Central Florida since opening in 1988. It has been ranked as high as No. 14 in Florida, and has hosted dozens of national and international competitions. U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell is among its fans.
“I really enjoyed the golf course,” said McDowell, after playing in the annual $10,000 Timacuan Scramble. “It is a great layout with a links-like feel to it. It can be testy in places if you get off the beaten path, but it is a very fair course.”
The Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream is based at Timacuan, and is headed by world-renowned golf instructor Sean Foley. It is home to several top international junior players, but also offers training to all levels of golfers. The main focus is providing junior golfers a unique opportunity to develop big match temperament through elite golf training with world-class academics.
