PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The current Traveling Golfer television show — airing on NBC Sports, the Fun Roads Network, the WingDing Network and a host of affiliated websites across the country – has been drawing rave reviews. It deals with the extremely important topic of golf course renovations.
The show features interviews with professional golfer Jay Sigel, golf course architect Ron Garl and a number of Directors of Golf from courses that have undergone major renovations.
But no interview attracted more attention than the talk with renowned architect Tom Fazio. He covered the highlights of the golf course renovation process in about a four-minute segment of the show.
Those clips were taken from a riveting 20-minute interview with Fazio at the famed Jupiter Hills Club in Florida. How riveting? The interview aroused such interest that the entire 20 minutes have been re-produced into a Special Feature and posted on the home page of www.travelinggolfervideo.com.
The opportunity to sit with Fazio, who has more than twice as many course designs on the Golf Digest Top 200 list as any other golf course architect, and talk in-depth about such a key issue in the golf world inspired Traveling Golf host Tony Leodora. “Tom is a longtime friend, so many of our meetings are of a more casual nature,’’ said Leodora. “However, in this meeting, we both focused on why renovations have become so popular … and why they are so critical to sustaining the game of golf. The net result was a classic interview.”
The edited portion of the Fazio interview appears in the latest episode of the Traveling Golfer. Viewers get an inside look at renovations that have been done at such clubs as the Donald Ross classic at Aronimink in SE Pennsylvania, the Dick Wilson Champions course at Palm Aire CC in Sarasota, a quick peek at Garl’s re-design on the Longboat Key Club also near Sarasota, the Geoge Fazio gem at Jupiter Hills in Jupiter, Florida that was re-designed by Tom Fazio, and Garl’s major renovation on his original design at Herons Glen Golf & CC in North Fort Myers, Florida.

Responding to golfers’ never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora created the Traveling Golfer so he could take viewers on video trips to some of the most exciting golf locations. In each of the last eight years, the show has been honored by the International Network of Golf with one of its prestigious awards. In four of those years the Traveling Golfer was named the No. 1 Golf Television Show in America.
The Traveling Golfer is a series of monthly shows hosted by Leodora, who has more than 20 years of experience in televised golf. The featured destination stays on the website for one month, before being replaced by a new show. Alternate shows also air in a two-month rotation.
