Alabamagolfnews.com is pleased to announce that veteran Alabama sports writer Tommy Hicks has joined the platform as a contributing writer.
Hicks is sports editor for the Lagniappe newspaper in Mobile. He has covered sports in the state at seven different newspapers for more than 40 years.
Hicks has won state, regional and national writing awards. In 2018 he was inducted into the Alabama Sports Writers Association Hall of Fame. He also is a past president of the Football Writers Association of America.
Hicks has covered golf at all levels – from high school tournaments through the PGA and LPGA tours. As a golfer, he is below par, though not in a good way.
“I have always enjoyed covering golf, from The Masters to local tournaments and players, and I appreciate the opportunity to be involved with AlabamaGolfNews.com,” Hicks said.
