Brentwood, Tenn. – Softspikes® celebrated major golfing moments at both The RBC Canadian Open and U.S. Women’s Open on Sunday, with both champions wearing Tour Flex Pro as they powered their way to their respective victories.
With his father on the bag for the very first time, the winner of the RBC Canadian Open was in superb form all week at Hamilton Country Club, shooting rounds of 64, 66, 66 & 68 to secure an emotional 1-shot victory and first PGA Tour title. Wearing a combination of Tour Flex Pro, ProStinger & Silver Tornado spikes in his Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour golf shoes, the 27-year-old Scot becomes the 23rd PGA Tour winner to do so wearing spikes in the last 25 PGA Tour events. In addition, 36 of the top 41 finishers at The RBC Canadian Open chose replaceable spikes over spikeless golf shoes.
At Lancaster Country Club it was a similar story, with the champion sweeping the field aside with a final round 68 to capture her second U.S. Women’s Open. The 22-year-old Japanese player was also wearing Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour golf shoes, with her chosen combination of Tour Flex Pro & Silver Tornado spikes.
“The finales at both The RBC Canadian Open and U.S. Women’s Open were truly special moments and we are delighted that both winners put their trust in the No.1 spike on Tour, Tour Flex Pro.” commented Joe Henderson, President, Softspikes.
Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, but amateur golfers rarely think about the impact wearing spikes has on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be switching up their spikes every 15 rounds.
