World No.1 wins The Open wearing the No.1 Spike on Tour to secure the Softspikes Slam

Brentwood, Tenn. – History was made at The Open on Sunday evening as the World’s No.1 golfer captured The Open in dominant fashion, completing the 2025 Softspikes Slam and solidifying Tour Flex Pro as the definitive spike of champions.

With this monumental win, all four major champions in 2025, including The Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open and now The Open, have triumphed wearing Tour Flex Pro, the most trusted spike on Tour. This remarkable achievement reinforces what elite players have known all season: Tour Flex Pro delivers the traction, stability and confidence required to perform at the most elite level of the game.

2025 Open Championship – Key Highlights:

  • $14.4 million of the $15.9 million total purse was claimed by players wearing replaceable spikes.
    • Spiked: $14,431,802.00
    • Spikeless: $1,455,213.00
  • More than half of all the earnings were paid out to players wearing Tour Flex Pro
    • Tour Flex Pro: $8,356,612.00 (52.6% of total purse)
  • 15 of the top 16 finishers at The Open trusted Softspikes technology.
  • Nearly 60% of players in spikeless shoes missed the cut.
  • 29 of the past 32 PGA Tour champions have secured their victories in spikes.

“Tour Flex Pro isn’t just the most trusted spike on Tour, it’s the trusted spike of major champions,” commented Joe Henderson, President of Softspikes.

“When the World No.1 completed the Softspikes Slam at The Open, it confirmed what we’ve seen all season: the best players in the world trust Tour Flex Pro performance when everything is on the line. Winning all four majors in a single season is a remarkable achievement, and we’re proud to have played a key role in those victories.”

Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, but amateur golfers rarely think about the impact wearing spikes has on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be switching up their spikes every 15 rounds.
