DULUTH, Ga. – TPC Sugarloaf, host of the PGA TOUR Champions’ Mitsubishi Electric Classic, celebrates the completion of the second phase of a major club enhancement project, designed to modernize amenities and enrich member experiences. Phase two of the three-year project encompasses a completely renovated Lifestyle Center, featuring an expanded and upgraded exercise facility, full-service restaurant and café and revitalized outdoor patio area.
Keeping member values and interests at the core of the project, the club’s new Lifestyle Center offers cutting edge fitness programming geared to the entire family. With multiple group classes scheduled per week, as well as personalized options through Wellbeats – an on-demand fitness provider offering a wide range of cutting edge workouts using virtual trainers – members have ample opportunity to prioritize health and find balance amidst their busy schedules.
“We are so excited to expand our offerings with the new and improved Lifestyle Center,” said TPC Sugarloaf General Manager Mike Maloney. “The second round of enhancements was designed to provide an unparalleled lifestyle experience for our members. Promoting a healthy, enjoyable member experience is always our priority. We look forward to helping our membership spend more quality time with family and friends and create lifelong memories this summer.”
In addition to the expanded fitness offerings, the Lifestyle Center now features Tempo, a full service restaurant and café open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., serving a full range of healthy dining options including a number of “power bowls.” Tempo offers generous indoor/outdoor seating space overlooking two fire pits and center court. The establishment also provides delicious solutions for on-the-go members, serving fresh paninis, cold-pressed juices and smoothies, in-house cold brew, drip coffee and a daily selection of baked goods.
Further transforming the Lifestyle Center into a community hub, enhancements extend to the club’s outdoor area for a new resort experience on the pool deck, including new pool furniture, cabanas and poolside food and beverage service. Amidst these significant changes, as well as those from phase one, which focused on enhancing the golf experience on the Pines Course via updated greens, fairways and bunkers, TPC Sugarloaf’s ability to preserve rich southern charm still attracts both regional and national membership, and this project is designed to honor the property’s rich history without losing the “farmhouse” feel members have celebrated.
The new amenities were unveiled to membership Memorial Day weekend, with phase three of the enhancement project slated to begin this summer. Scope-of-work for the final leg includes the revitalization of the main clubhouse, including a kitchen expansion, rebranded restaurant and bar with a new outdoor verandah, as well as a renovation to the Meadows golf course to include, but not limited to new greens, fairways, tees and bunkers.
Named by Golfweek as a “Top 100 Best Residential Golf Course,” TPC Sugarloaf and its championship layout provide an exceptional private golf club membership experience. Designed by World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman, TPC Sugarloaf’s golf course was constructed to fit naturally with its rolling hills and green pasture surroundings, formerly known as Rollins Farm. The club is a proud certified member of the Audubon Corporative Sanctuary Program for Golf, practicing sound environmental management while helping protect native wildlife. In addition to the picturesque landscape and rich flora, TPC Sugarloaf also contains a challenging layout for players to enjoy, knowing some of the world’s best golfers once tested their skills on the very same turf. The club hosted PGA TOUR events from 1997 – 2007, and has held the PGA TOUR Champions’ Mitsubishi Electric Classic since 2013.
