The sixth and final round of the mixed-field professional virtual golf tour was played at The Innisbrook Copperhead Course in Trackman simulators worldwide

VEDBÆK, Denmark -Sebastian Wiis of Denmark shot a 7-under 64 to hold off a parade of challengers in the season finale of the NEXT Golf Tour Powered by Trackman.

Playing in his first tournament following a runner-up finish at the Ecco Tour Spanish Masters in February, Wiis’ bogey-free round at the Innisbrook Copperhead Course earned him $20,000 — the largest winner’s check of the season on the NEXT.

Zach Ion of Australia and Wes Heffernan of Canada both shot -5 to tie for second and earned $10,350 each. A group of 10 players tied for fourth at -4 and earned $2,949 each.

The field for the finale was limited to the top 101 players on the season-long Order of Merit through five rounds. The top 10 players after the finale split a $50,000 bonus pool:

PLAYER BONUS TOTAL
Rasmus Rosin, Sweden $15,000 $68,340
Mathias Gladbjerg, Denmark $9,000 $32,873
Frederik Tøttenborg, Denmark $6,000 $27,770
Sebastian Wiis, Denmark $4,500 $25,538
Nikke Tyry, Finland $3,500 $25,538
Sigurdur Gardarsson, Iceland $3,000 $23,693
Jeppe Kristian, Denmark $2,625 $23,073
Sofie Kibsgaard-Nielsen, Denmark $2,250 $22,533
Tripp Kinney, USA $2,125 $18,349
Christian Jacobsen, Denmark $2,000 $16,912

As the NEXT Golf Tour champion, Rosin also received a wild card invitation to play in the BMW International Open on the DP World Tour this summer.

Wiis put an exclamation mark on the Danish run of dominance on the NEXT. Four of the six winners and eight of the top 10 players on the Order of Merit are from Denmark.

Each of the six stops on the 2023 NEXT Golf Tour consisted of one 18-hole individual stroke play round on a select Trackman Virtual Golf course. The mixed-field events were open to professionals and amateurs, with men and women competing straight-up from different tee boxes. The guaranteed minimum purse for each NEXT event was $100,000, and the top 30% of the field received a paycheck.

The NEXT Golf Tour will return for a second season in November.
