BOSTON – The Golf Travel Writers of America, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025, announces two important events in January during the annual PGA Show in Orlando, Fla.
An outing of members is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Jan. 24 at the Heathrow Legacy Country Club south of Orlando. The event is likely to be the first of at least three association events being planned in 2025 by a new leadership team.
The other show-related event is the association’s annual business meeting, to be held at 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Orange County Convention Center, site of the PGA Show. The meeting will be held in Room 312C, the Media Work Room, at the convention center, and will precede the International Network of Golf’s Media Awards presentation, which begins at 12:30 p.m.
Heathrow Legacy Country Club, the site of the group’s Jan. 24 outing, is owned and operated by Concert Golf Partners of Orlando, a privately held company that owns 36 upscale private clubs across the U.S. It recently invested $3 million in upgrades at Heathrow. That property has two courses and two clubhouses a mile apart. The Heathrow Country Club course was designed by Ron Garl; the Legacy Club’s course was designed by Tom Fazio.
The Golf Travel Writers of America, founded in 2005, represents U.S. and Canadian golf travel writers, editors, publishers, columnists, radio and television hosts and podcasters who focus on golf travel.
“A good portion of our writers and editors will be attending the PGA Show, so we expect a good turnout for our annual meeting and the first formal outing of the new year,” said the association’s executive director, Len Ziehm.
