PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – For the ninth consecutive year, the Traveling Golfer television show emerged from the annual Media Awards announcement at the PGA Show in Orlando with a national award.
The Media Awards, presented by the International Network of Golf, recognizes excellence in a number of different categories including print, radio and television. The Traveling Golfer television show received the Outstanding Achievement Award, emblematic of a runner-up finish in the television category.
It was the ninth consecutive year the show was honored – voted four times in previous years as the No. 1 Golf Television Show in America. This year marked the fifth Outstanding Achievement Award.
“This is my first year involved with the Traveling Golfer,” explained new managing partner, Jeff Gilder, who accepted the award at the PGA Show. “It is so exciting to grab onto an established industry leader and try to move it to new marks of excellence in golf television”
“I am so excited about the new team we have created at Traveling Golfer,” said Tony Leodora, host of the Traveling Golfer. “Executive Producer Dustin Gilder was the lone holdover from previous years. He – along with Jeff Gilder, Brian Stefan and AJ Gohil – will push us to new heights..”
This year’s award honors a show in Pinehurst, North Carolina, that looked at three Donald Ross-designed gems – Pine Needles, Mid-Pines and the newly renovated Southern Pines. It also provided a lifestyle look at the quaint Village of Pinehurst, as well as other attractions in the area.
