Free Event On May 27th Part Of Troon Player Development Month
Scottsdale, Ariz. – As part of Troon “Player Development Month,” Troon’s Global Director of Education and Coaching, Tim Mahoney will host a Virtual Coaching Summit LIVE on Troon’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/Troon) on Thursday, May 27 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. EST. The Virtual Coaching Summit will feature eight instructors/panelists covering topics such as the performance paradigm; how expert coaches effectively communicate; takeaway, setting ground work for success; and group instruction versus individual instruction.
The Virtual Coaching Summit is part of Troon’s Player Development Month programming and coincides with the many clinics and offerings that instructors at Troon-branded and affiliated facilities around the globe have led for all levels of golfers. Instructors, trainers and those just interested in learning more about golf instruction are encouraged to join the Summit live and be a part of the discussion by leaving questions and comments within the live feed.
The list of instructors/panelists includes:
- Cheryl Anderson — Mike Bender Golf Academy
- Damon Goddard — Jordon Speith’s Trainer
- Joe Hallett — Coach of Stacy Lewis
- Dan Jackson — G2 Golf Academy Staff Member
- Paul Killgallon — Director of Player Development, Honours Golf

- Tim Mahoney — Global Director of Education and Coaching, Troon

“We are very excited to pool together this incredible coaching panel for Troon’s Player Development Month,” said Mahoney. “The Summit will be an interactive 90 minutes of presentations and panels discussion with a Q and A from viewers. The panel itself consists of 3-Top 50 Instructors with over 100 years of golf instruction experience. Attendees will leave with coaching techniques that will improve their golf instruction plus amateur golfers in attendance will leave with several tips to help his or her golf game.”
In addition to lessons, clinics and instruction during Player Development Month, Troon also introduced Troon Coach, powered by ThrivSports. Troon Coach is a full-service online platform where golfers can find local golf coaches, trainers and instructional events; book and pay for lessons; and track and analyze practice sessions. Golfers can learn more at https://platform.thrivsports.com/troon-coach.
Troon developed “Player Development Month” in 2013 as an initiative to help current golfers play better golf while also introducing the sport to new golfers. Throughout the month, Troon facilities and Troon Golf Academies around the world increase golf instruction and lesson opportunities for all levels of players, hosting golf clinics, creating virtual/social instructional content, and encouraging golfers to participate in a unique Player Development Month Putting Challenge.
