Company moves into the historic Lakewood, Washington course, pairing its new HQ with a renovated pro shop and The Edit Social House restaurant.
Tacoma, Washington – TRUE linkswear (TRUE), creator of ultra-comfortable, modern golf footwear designed for walking on and off the course, has relocated its headquarters to Oakbrook Golf Club in Lakewood, Washington — the public golf course TRUE’s co-founders purchased in 2012. The move follows a Phase 1 renovation of Oakbrook’s clubhouse and brings TRUE’s headquarters together with the course’s pro shop, a new restaurant, and a content studio, turning Oakbrook into a single destination where product innovation, golf culture, and community now intersect.
Oakbrook has anchored its Lakewood neighborhood since 1966, when it opened as a private club and the centerpiece of a 923-acre planned community that eventually grew to more than 2,300 homes. The course spent 46 years as a private country club before the Moore family bought it and opened it to the public on January 1, 2013. Its narrow, tree-lined fairways and mature oaks — features that took decades to grow in and can’t easily be replicated — have remained untouched through the renovation.
Phase 1 of the project focused on the clubhouse. TRUE overhauled the existing building, bringing in modern touches and TRUE centric design elements to elevate the welcome experience. The redesign leans on walnut and natural wood set against black and neutral tones, with honest, unpolished concrete floors, creating a space built to double as a working headquarters, retail shop, content set, and gathering place all at once.
“We wanted it to feel TRUE the second you walked in — modern, minimal, and comfortable,” said TRUE linkswear Co-Founder and CEO Jason Moore. “The puzzle of the project was making that same room work as a headquarters, a working pro shop, a content creation hub, and a place we bring people to hang out, sometimes all in the same week. We weren’t picking between looking good and working hard. We built for both the TRUE needs as well as an improved, all new customer facing experience.”
The renovation also brought a new dining concept to the property: The Edit Social House, led by celebrated Tacoma restaurateur James Padilla, known for his work with A16 and locally at Bar Rosa on Tacoma’s Hilltop. The new restaurant serves wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, elevated fusion comfort food, alongside a cocktail program, giving the course a hospitality anchor of its own.
Owning Oakbrook gives TRUE a golf course it can use as an extension of its business in its pursuit to continue to revolutionize golf culture. The company plans to shoot product photography and video on-site, host events, regular skins games and host athletes and ambassadors for same-day content and play on the property — starting with the inaugural Founders Cup in late August 2026.
“Our team can walk out of the office and test and shoot product on an actual golf course, same day, no travel, no permits, no borrowed location,” Moore said. “That changes how fast we can move and how much we can produce. It also means we can fly athletes and ambassadors in, put them on the course, shoot content in the morning, and have them playing a round by afternoon. One trip covers what used to take two. It also gives us a testing ground for how TRUE can not only positively impact local golf culture but set a precedent for what a modern golf course can look and feel like.”
Moore said the goal is for Oakbrook to function as a full destination rather than a golf course with amenities attached. “We don’t want Oakbrook to be a golf course that happens to have a shop next to it,” he said. “We want someone to come play nine, eat at The Edit after, wander through the space, shop exclusive product offerings and leave wanting to come back for more. And this is Phase 1. We’re going to keep adding amenities and features as we go to make this your home away from home.”
True to form, the TRUE team is using the new energy from the move to Oakbrook to fuel its creativity for its 2027 footwear and apparel releases. Building off the success of its OG, ALL DAY, ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE (LUX2) footwear lines, the brand launched its hit ANTIGRAVITY platform with the releases of the Antigravity, the Antigravity Pro and Antigravity Leather. The new Antigravity pairs TRUE’s responsive Pebax® Superfoam midsole with an aggressive TPU outsole featuring integrated spikes, a premium TRUEdura laminated waterproof upper backed by a two-year waterproof warranty, a full-length Nylon Speedboard and an innovative bathtub midsole design to deliver confidence from the first tee to the final putt.
A visit to Oakbrook will soon give people the chance to see the latest footwear, apparel and accessory offerings up close and, from time to time, meet the creators.
“Oakbrook is where the brand stops being a tagline and becomes a real place you can be a part of,” Moore added. “Everything we’ve said about the Pacific Northwest, natural movement, doing things our own way, now has a street address attached to it. It’s our office. It’s our clubhouse. It’s our content studio. It’s also just a golf course in Lakewood that anyone is welcome at, any time. That last part matters as much as the first three. We’re building the kind of facility we’ve always dreamed of.”
