Club Members at TwinEagles, in Naples, Florida, Overwhelmingly Approve Transition of Ownership from Developer to Membership
Impressive 97.5 percent of voting club members agree to turnover, and to begin preparations for next phase of success at unique 36-hole club featuring The Talon, designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son, Jack II
Naples, Florida– Eager to launch a new era of their top-tier lifestyle community – highlighted by two distinct, world-class golf courses, and diverse real estate offerings – in Southwest Florida, members at TwinEagles, in Naples, have overwhelmingly approved a transition of ownership from the developer, The Ronto Group, to the membership.
Ninety-four percent of the Club’s members cast votes, with a whopping 97.5 percent agreeing to move forward with the members themselves having the ability to shape the future of the community. Through the transition, TwinEagles’ members did not incur a reduction in equity and the community is free of debt.
“We are proud that we have been able to garner such strong support as we successfully transferred ownership of the Club to our members,” says Ron Filler, Club President at TwinEagles. “We have an amazing property at TwinEagles, and now as a privately held club, we have an exciting future filled with rare opportunities for the membership today to be able to shape, and be a part of, the future at our Club.”
With a golf membership capped at 614, TwinEagles features two championship courses – The Talon, designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus and his son, Jack II, which has hosted PGA TOUR Champions tournaments; and The Eagle, designed by Steve Smyers, which was named “Best New U.S. Private Course of the Year” in 2012 by GOLF Magazine. That same year, The Eagle hosted the CME Group’s LPGA Titleholders Tournament.
Jack Nicklaus and Jack II, president of Nicklaus Design, have seen their collaboration, The Talon, host PGA TOUR Champions tournaments since its opening year of 1999, and an official TOUR event for 12 of the last 17 years. They are understandably proud of the impact the design has had among the game’s elite and those who call TwinEagles home.
“TwinEagles was the first design collaboration in Florida with my son,” says Nicklaus, the founder of Nicklaus Design, a world leader in design with almost 420 courses open for play in 45 countries and 40 states. “Jack and I set out to design a layout with strong strategy and shot values that could test the world’s best players for one week out of the year.
“More important was being able to service the membership, which would play the course for the other 51 weeks of the year. We wanted to give the members at TwinEagles a fun and challenging golf experience that accommodates all skill levels. We’re pleased that The Talon has stood the test of time and successfully met those objectives.”
The amenities at TwinEagles begin with the 47,000-square-foot clubhouse, featuring a wrap-around verandah that overlooks preserve views and our beautiful golf courses. We are also proud of our award-winning Executive Chef, Billy Vasseur, who brings his farm-to-table philosophy to all of his food selections, which encompasses everything from casual to fine cuisine.
The new resort-style swimming pool and 6,430-square-foot fitness center include a spa, an outdoor Tiki lounge and dining venue. Lighted Har-Tru tennis courts are adjacent to the pool.
No wonder TwinEagles is among a select group of private clubs in the nation to be recognized as a Distinguished Emerald Club by BoardRoom Magazine, a leading publication for the private club industry.
Among TwinEagles’ 717 door fronts, there is a diversity of property ranges – from condominiums priced in the mid-$300,000s, to $3 million estates – with new homes, resale homes and lots available. Golf, sport and social memberships are available at TwinEagles.
“We’re excited to have people from all over the world visit and experience all that makes TwinEagles so special,” Filler says. “Our low-density community creates a close family feeling where everyone knows one another. That’s highly desirable among those seeking that perfect lifestyle. And we have a very competitive financial structure here in Southwest Florida.
“So as we move forward, we’re fortunate to have an exquisite piece of property, in a lush, natural setting, and a down-to-earth membership that reflects the simple elegance of our community. There’s really nothing that looks and feels like TwinEagles.”
