Ultimate Long Drive, Inc (ULD) has secured dates for their 2021 Amateur Long Drive™ and Xtreme Long Drive®  World Championships at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club near Chicago, IL. Both series’ will conclude their seasons with world championship events on Cog Hill’s purpose-built long drive grid between September 11, 2021 and September 19, 2021.

Entering their fifth season, ULD will be operating two long drive series. The Amateur Long Drive™ (ALD) series began in 2017 and has grown to include 150+ annual events in 26 countries, all leading to the ALD World Championship. ULD’s professional series, Xtreme Long Drive® (XLD) started in 2020 with a (COVID) limited schedule in Mesquite, NV, Des Moines, IA, and Greensboro, NC. For 2021. XLD will include 12+ events across the USA leading to the XLD World Championship at Cog Hill.

“We’re very excited to have the opportunity to conclude both our series at the prestigious Cog Hill Golf & Country Club,” said Jeff Gilder, President of Ultimate Long Drive, Inc. “We had a chance to meet the Cog Hill PGA General Manager, Troy Newport back in August and to see, first-hand, the progress on the new long drive grid.”

Since the 1920s Cog Hill has been a staple in the Chicago golf industry. It is only fitting the venue would host a long drive world championship. At the 1934 Chicago World’s Fair, caddie turned course owner Joe Jemsek drove a golf ball from the top of the 168 foot sky-ride tower  501 yards into Lake Michigan. The official distance was measured by the U.S. Navy engineers. Mr. Jemsek defeated 9 local golf professionals to take home the trophy.

Troy Newport, Cog Hill Golf & Country Club’s General Manager says, “Cog Hill is very excited to host the 2021 Amateur Long Drive and Xtreme Long Drive World Championships! The Chicago area is well known for its love of the game of golf and this event is going to be a big hit! Our grid will be ready to handle the longest drivers in the world and we will show all the participants and spectators our special brand of hospitality. Long Driving is in our blood!”.
