Golfweek Releases 9th Annual Amateur Issue

Golfweek releases its ninth annual Amateur Golf issue. The May 3 issue features the stories of Jim Mahoney of Waverly, Ga., and Ella Gates of Napa, Calif., who were recognized as the Americans who played the most rounds of golf in 2007.

U.S. Women’s Open Entries Close; 60 Golfers Currently Fully Exempt

The U.S. Golf Association accepted 1,236 entries for the 2008 U.S. Women’s Open, to be played June 26-29 at Interlachen Country Club in Edina, Minn. It is the fifth consecutive year the number of entries for the championship has surpassed 1,000, and this year’s total was 15 shy of last year’s record number of entries.
